Thanks for the advice guys...I think it's the starter at this point. After work I reconnected the battery and the starter once again started turning, no key in ignition. Put the key to "on" and she eventually started so drive her home listening to starter spin the whole way home. I did disconnect the little black cable from the starter after she started (I could barely reach it under the car) and starter still spun. However after I got home and shut the key off, everything stopped like normal. Plugged it back in, started it, and the starter kept spinning. Shut it off and the starter stopped. Tried to unplug the blue relay in the drivers wheel well while the car was running and the starter would still spin. Started/stopped car several times and one of ten the starter disengaged correctly. So while I could not duplicate the original weird issue of the starter running with the car off, I'm pretty sure it's the starter. I will admit its an Autozone starter, not Nissan (went out on a road trip and needed to get one that day, Autozone was only option) and its 6 months old...I have heard many have issues with Non-Nissan parts (starters, alternators, etc) so that leads me to believe it even more. Got a Nissan starter on order now, so hopefully that will be the fix!
